πProcess
In the 1980s, the premortem standby procedure was developed by Jerry Leaf and Mike Darwin to intervene immediately after a legal declaration of death to minimize cellular death in the brain after circulatory and respiratory arrest. As a result of deployment and standby notification, the patient can be intervened early and an ideal stabilization can be achieved for the patient with a combination of cardiopulmonary support (CPS), hypothermia, and drug management.
Deployment and standby is the process by which our staff deploy equipment and transport teams to the location of a patient with a serious risk of death and closely monitor the patient. The purpose of the standby procedure is to immediately restore breathing and blood circulation after the legal pronouncement of death; to administer protective medications and to ensure that the patient is cooled. The holding protocol is critical for cryopreservation. For this reason, we recommend our members who are in life-threatening situations to receive health and care services in nursing homes or health institutions near our own facilities in order to respond to the cases in an ideal way in terms of cryopreservation.
Organizations will periodically review demographics and regional distribution of members to plan the allocation of deployment and standby resources. To minimize the risk of late or last minute deployments, organizations will provide incentives for members to report changes in their health status and a color-coded member tracking system will be used. Our organization will be able to request medical data on the terminally ill patient to determine the timing and extent of deployment. Although our organization does not participate in the premortem treatment of our members, it may request to provide medical management of the patient in consultation with the patient's family or relatives. Except in cases where full deployment cannot be ensured due to unforeseen circumstances, the deployment and waiting procedure will be carried out by 4 personnel of our organization. In order to avoid the risk of fatigue and errors, team members will work in shifts of two in 12-hour periods for adequate sleep and rest. In case the organization personnel is unable to intervene immediately after the legal declaration of death, the necessary interventions will be carried out by volunteer local collaborating organization personnel.
Sustainability of the Working System
The facility will continue to operate using clean and recyclable energy such as solar energy systems, wind turbines to maintain its sustainability and activity. It also keeps advanced generator systems as a backup in case of a possible situation. It ensures that patients are not affected by this situation and that the structures remain active.
